    Last week

    I am about to start my terminal leave after 20 years of service (Navy Seabee). I'm not looking for glory or praise, just want to know am I forgetting something.
    I had my va physical it gets submitted as soon as my dd214 is given.
    I used up all my TA for the year.
    I will be a retiree and a dependent should I get my ca drivers license before sep( is it cheaper)

    Well congratz and thanks for your time.

    Only thing I can think of is double check all your VA stuff and check with the personell office and have them run a quick checklist by you and see if you missed anything or need to correct anything.

      Have an expert, like somebody from the DAV, go thru your medical records and submit your VA paperwork for you.

      The VA generally isn't as bad as you hear, but it is still a huge bureaucracy. Having somebody like the DAV on your side to help you figure it out really helps... and they do it for free.

          Make sure that you aren't a CA resident. Once you retire you can keep your out of state residency and avoid income tax as long as your spouse is active military still.
