Some questions about VA dental ...

I have comprehensive dental coverage through the VA part of my service-connected disability. I've never used it.

I think I may need to soon. Some I have a few questions.

-As far as I can tell online the only VA dental centers in the Bay Area are in San Francisco and Santa Rosa. Is that right? Or, are there others? If any of you have been to ,I'd like to know what you thought and if there were good dentists (names would be good).

-I've heard sometimes people can get the VA to pay for dental care at a private dentist. Does anyone here have familiarity with this and how it would work?

    Thanks for any insight/advice.

1st let me say VA dental in la sucks. It's all students who treat you like everything needs a root canal. And everything takes a long time to get done. A root canal take minimum 2 4 hr visits. And they will pay for emergency work but it takes forever to get authorization so it most likely come out of your pocket. For other non emergency stuff the dentist has to submit stuff saying it would be better for you to get private care and than you have to wait for authorization (weeks-months) and hope it is approved.

This is my experience. Been waiting 3 yrs for 3 crowns teeth are way worse than when I started.
