Loop Hole around PTS for filling 9502 Orders!!!!!

I was up for orders but I didn't want a 0000 billet. A 9502 Instructor Billet was open and I wanted to apply for it before someone else did, but I couldn't because I didn't have PTS approval. My company chief called up the detailer and convinced him I wasn't some POS so he ended up submitting an "Attainability Waiver" and got me my orders. A week later I jumped on bupers and had hard copies in hand!

There are two criteria for PTS: SEAOS and PRD. You are obviously at PRD,and should have been put in as such, however I have transferred people who couldnt get PTS approval for PRD, but still had contract time left. Those people will have to go back into PTS to reenlist. You will still have to have an approved PTS quota to reenlist, it just delayed your input into the system, because you will now fill a CNO critical billet.

Be careful, because the new PTS business rules came out in October, and state that anything that you do that changes your SEAOS is considered a use of the quota, and once you use it you lose it. So, if you extend, and dont extend into the next zone, you wont be able to reenlist with your PTS quota.

Cool you got orders though, where are you going, or are you staying in Heuneme? Oh, and remember to get your MTS ASAP.

I guess the main reason I couldn't originally apply for the orders was because I didn't have enough time on my contract but that waiver took care of that. I didn't have my EAOS adjusted or anything like that but I do have a couple dozen or so looks but I'm not really sweating it. PTS or ERB, I've set myself up for the other side but I definitely am still PRO-NAVY and want to do my 20 but we'll see!

Yeah definitely love it there but I'm trying to be a CSW Instructor down there. Still haven't got a sponsor or anything but I'm glad I got it because my second choice was RTC Great Lakes

I hear you man. Yeah, the waiver can fix that. I am a DIV CC down here, thats the only real reason I know as much as I do about the system.

If your evals are good, and you havent failed PRT's, you should be good to go. I got picked up on my second look, however I am still not ruling out the ERB next year getting me. Also, year group and manning come into play for both ERB and PTS.

            Good luck.
