Nothing like a 1000ccs of saline with 25G of dextrose after a long night of drinking...

If I was to arrive on scene and find my patient with IV access already placed by Ricky Rescue, I'd find it hard to trust.
I have no idea what that jackmoke has done prior to my arrival.
Now, off duty, I find it hard to carry things I would need in order to be of assistance.
The way I see it, I wouldn't feel comfortable going out with intentions of assisting "just in case" and not having supplies just short of rig with me. So I only head out every day with whats in the brain.
Best thing you could do while off duty is call 911 and perhaps give a pertinent report when EMS arrives.

There is always going to be a situation where you wish you had it, but the odds of being at the right place at the right time, or the patient's wrong time, are pretty slim. You could go your whole life without using your "true" supplies.

if you are actually at the scene of an accident, the only thing that you can do legally and be covered by the good samaratin act is life, limb or eye sight or anything else that is covered under our emt basic as a medic..... But we are being promoted as army medics to intermdiates on our next recert and paramedics after that. So by 2016 all 68W (army) will be nationally registered as paramedics
