As much as I hate to admit it after being out for about a year and a half I can honestly say I miss being in the Marines with all my heart. So therefore we have to celebrate the traditions that we can still hang onto!

I live in the Bay Area and looking to get a bunch of Marines of all ages together. We will get drunk and tell war stories and have a good time! Let me know what you all think. I was thinking about going to the city and checking out the Marine Corps hotel because I have never been there.

Why don't you wait a couple of weeks and search for a birthday ball in your area. Usually the VFW or the American Legion do something around the 10th. Like in the Marines, you would probably meet some lifelong friends at these places.

my unit has our ball at the Marines Memorial Hotel in San Francisco that you referenced. I won't be there this year, but I'm sure if you inquired at the hotel you'd get some information.
