          It does.

And goes back to why keeping such things secret was important.
But I guess these days it's not possible.

The right thing to do would be to honor the men aboard that CH47, including the members of ST6 who killed Bin laden. If they don't release their names, citing privacy or security reasons. Thats a red flag..

I'm torn between heroes being known and their family members remaining safe.

Wouldn't that put a target on their familys for life?

They said the SEALs killed were not those involved in the Binladen raid but they are part Team 6.

'KABUL, Afghanistan — A military helicopter was shot down in eastern Afghanistan, killing 31 U.S. special operation troops, most of them from the elite Navy SEALs unit that killed al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, along with seven Afghan commandos. It was the deadliest single incident for American forces in the decade-long war.'

I think that paragraph caused alot of confusion for most people. If you don't read it carefully, it makes it sound like it was that team that killed him..

They don't even call it ST6 anymore, that's a old designation from when Richard Marcinko was the CO of the team. It was disbanded in the late 80's and changed to ' Devgroup'. ST6 name was created to trick the russians into thinking there was only 6 teams.

                        Bad news.

I doubt it was a case of the hajis knowing that DevGru members were on board and wanted to assassinate them. More likely, given the crazy amount of missions those dudes were conduction on a daily basis, the odds just caught up with them.

                        Very sad news.

Maybe the update was that no known members of the OBL raid were on the Chinook when it went down but the current reports say 7 AFG commandos and 24 DEVGRU members. DEVGRU (ST6) consists of several hundred personnel.

That people at war get killed? There's nothing suspicious about it. It is just unfortunate.
