So, I'm getting stationed in Hawaii where the minimum age to own any firearm is 21. I'm 20 and cant take any of my guns, until I turn 21 that is. I'm going to gave my father hold them for me until then. I was wondering what you guys would recommend ( other than a louiseville slugger) to keep for home defense.

I am not at all familiar with the gun laws in Hawaii but are you positive about the age of ownership?

I would look very closely into the following
Is 21 to purchase new?
Is it 21 to buy from a private party IE face to face?
Is it 21 to be in possession of handgun?
Is it 21 to own a handgun?

I was stationed at Hickam for six years. When it comes to the locals and gun laws, that island and the state it resides in, blows. The positive part is that there are hot chicks galore and most are half nekkid.

p.s. It is not a military "friendly" place at all when it comes to cops, firearms, etc.

@ninja really? I was hoping it wouldnt be that way, but was pretty sure it would be.(sigh) I didn't think I got worse than California, but man I didnt have any issue getting what I wanted when I was there. I think I'll get one of those kabar zk war swords, that ought to keep us safe from the out break.

I had a few run in's with law enforcement why I was there. I noticed open hostility from individuals that wore a badge and a gun. They don't like military and the natives that are LE really don't like haloes. The gun laws are retarded. Get a good tactical folder and stay out of areas that you shouldn't be in (you'll find out quick enough were they are at.) Overall, you will have a good time. There really never is a bad day in Hawaii.
