Yeah, that sucks bro...it is only going to get tougher as time goes on.
Just make sure that you are PME complete and all of your training is up to date.
Combat deployments don't mean squat anymore, it's all about PME. I had 6 deployments under my belt last year and was still "P'd", only after I ensured my training was up to date and I completed my PME did they select me.Comment

Only two selections for GySgt in my MOS, I'm waiting to jump on the wave since I'm 30 spots from the top for Sergeant with 24 Corporals slated to EAS before me on my 2nd composite score. There are two vacancies for MGySgt (out of 6), and I know of at least a few MSgts who are getting out. (Only about 500 Marines in my MOS).
PME is a killer, I know Sergeants Course definitely screwed some of the finest NCOs that I worked with whose deployment ops tempo was too high to do the resident course and thought they could be okay doing the non resident PME. (Isn't that the point of non-resident PME anyways?)
Congrats to all who got selected.Comment

Hell, just being able to reenlist has become difficult with the new tier system. Your training has to be in the top 10% to be guaranteed a boat space.Only two selections for GySgt in my MOS, I'm waiting to jump on the wave since I'm 30 spots from the top for Sergeant with 24 Corporals slated to EAS before me on my 2nd composite score. I have a Cpl who has a 284 PFT, 296 CFT, Green Belt MCMAP, SharpShooter Rifle and 4.4/4.4 Pro/Con. He only made tier II and is considered in the top 30% of his peer group (Cpl/MOS). Guess what's keeping him from being in the top 10%...his rifle score and most importantly, his Pro/Con marks.Comment

I was unaware there were this many Marines in the forums. I need to spend a little more time in here.
Congrats to all that got it, I remember how hard it was to wait for the Gunny list last year when I got selected.Do Not Demand What You Cannot Take By ForceComment

Does anybody, by chance, have access to the Staff Sergeant list for this year? Anxiously awaiting the results. Thanks to the new ECFC I'll be politely shoved back into the civilian world this year if I get a "P." Gotta love being in a very small MOS... meh.Comment

Results of staff board probably won't be out until next week I believe.Comment
