Quick question. Do you need to have it before you enlist? Can you get it while enlisted if you don't need it before hand.

Just been slacking off about getting mine. I'll most likely get it before I enlist but was just wondering.

You do not need your license to join, however there are some jobs that require you to drive (aka Military Police, Truck Driver, etc.) that you will not qualify for unless you have the license. So not a disqualifier, however it will hold you back a little bit during job selection.

Just get it now that your there you won't have too much free time during the mornings when they offer the test once you get to your unit. Plus it's much cooler to have a California drivers license then an Oklahoma one

I know many w/o license and have taught a few to drive. But like stated earlier if your job requires you to drive you will not get that job

Only for states that have auto renew. California is NOT one of those states.
