Info on the CSMR

Ok, first of all, if this is the wrong forum for this Mods will you please move or delete it so I won't have to live with the embarrassment.

So, I was at the Scottsfest in Coasta Mesa this weekend, and I ran across the CSMR booth. There was a very nice SFC named Shcultz there, and he gave me a little info (I couldn't talk long, as the little lady wanted to go watch the pipers play). I was surprized to find out that at my age of 44, that i could serve in the CSMR (I had rectal-cranial inversion as a young man and didn't sign up to serve, though I wanted to).

So My question is, what doe the CSMR do? I went to the web site, and it wasn't really very forthcoming as to what duties are performed. Does anyone here have any experience with the CSMR? Any info and help would be appreciated.

I dont have a problem with the "work for no pay" thing.

It's called volunteering, and I'm cool with that.

Talk to "Capo", he also has a(long) thread somewhere around here on the topic. I just finished backgrounds earlier this month myself.

they volunteer to help support the CA Army National Guard. I've seen them help run the ranges as well as help at the SRP site.

IIRC if you are deployed, you get paid.

Definitely talk to Capo. He's a recruiter I believe.
