I'm using the day to honor my friends that are currently in IRQ/AFG, and those that never will come back from there.

      You'll be missed brothers.

Memorial Day has always had a special meaning to me. My dad served the USA in the Army Air Corps during WWII and was assigned tot he 8th Air Force in England. He flew many mission over Germany and thankfully he was able to return every time. The same cannot be said for many of his fellow soldiers. May God bless their souls.

As a veteran myself, and I know there are several others here on CGN are also, I am thankful for the great sacrafices many men and women gave for their (our) country. The soldiers (and their families) who have served this great nation and paid the ultimate price for our freedoms with the loss of their lives have my utmost respect. Despite some of the termoil we as a nation are enduring at this time, the good ole USA is still the best place in the world to live.

I'm not a hugely religious man but John 15:13 says, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends".

Below is a pic of my dad with one of the B-17s he flew missions in and one of the fighters who flew along with them to protect the bombers. I miss you dad and someday we shall meet again.

All gave some, and some gave all, to all of those who serve and who have served, thank you.
