    D368 Conditional Release Extension?

So my conditional release from Army Reserves to AD expires next month I think, and I was wondering how to go about getting the 3 month extension if it even exists?? HOPEFULLY some more MOS's open up other than 18x. (No Offense to SF, I would LOVE to do it, but I just don't have the mentality and I don't think I can just make myself have it .)

Has it stalled on somebody's desk, or has your chain of command denied your request?

I have dealt with 368 packets on the Guard side and I assure you it's a long, painful process that will take much longer than the standard 30 days.

i have a Soldier in my unit that has his Reserve to Active packet and it has been at least 6 months and nothing. it's stalled at the Brigade level. i have told him the Army is downsizing and he may not be able to go active.

The Army is downsizing, which will help with a Soldier's request to be released but hurt when it comes to finding a new home.

I've had to educate myself on this process recently and here's a lot of what I've learned:

The company commander can recommend approval or disapproval of a 368, but in either case it must be forwarded to the battalion. A 368 request can be denied at the battalion, brigade, or division level.

If a Soldier wants to avoid being in conditional release limbo, my advice is to include:

        1. A letter from the gaining unit's commander with authorization and para/line number.
        2. Most recent ASVAB printout showing qualification for the MOS (if reclassing or going active).
        3. A personal statement that outlines in detail the motivation for the release, and how the Soldier's needs are not being met by their current status.
        4. Soldiers wishing to go active need to be open to accepting any MOS the Army wants to give them.

Also keep in mind that any time new information is added to the 368 the process of approval will begin again.

I actually have my 368 approved already. It expires June 3rd though. And the one month there were a lot of jobs available my recruiter was taking his sweet time getting my packet ready for MEPS so when it was done a new Bus. Rules message was out with no vacancies. Now 18X is the only vacancy and I want to just see if anything else is going to open these next few months. Just cause I doubt that I can get one approved again.

Ok, I'm tracking now...sounds like something only a recruiter or MEPS can assist with.

                UPDATE

So my brothers recruiter said I need to go to my original recruiter. I went and found he PCS'ed backed to a regular Army unit. So... the recruiting head sgt guy... (Not sure how recruiting office structure is but the E-7 in charge) was telling me that all I need to do is send my 368 back up and the people who sighed it will just scratch out the date and put a new one on not sure if that was jargon for making an addendum? But he said if they request a new blank one then he'd give me one and if they denied he'd give them the USAREC message and tell them that I have been holding out due to nothing avail except 18X and that is not what I want to enlist as.

Any input, or is this pretty much correct and legit?!
