Any 18Xrays? I have questions..

Hey if there are any current or prior 18Xrays out there, PM me I have questions about your fitness level before you shipped and difficulties of the course. Its the only prior service MOS open right now for reclasses, and I have always wanted to do 18X but just not this soon lol. Well PM me please!!

google man.. there is a ton of info on what the 18X MOS trains for fitness wise . There is also a lot of info in regards to the attrition rate of certain schools

they didn't offer you 11X either? i heard alot of the prior services are only getting 18x and 11x , but **** it 2 best MOS's

As of this month, PS E1-E4 can only go back as 18X unless they have an ASI and my unit hasn't sent be back to school to get awarded my ASI that was in my original contract (almost 2 years ago now) but keep saying they will once they get the budget blah blah. So I figured hell, 18X is any soldiers dream, but how can I prep to not fail the first day of hell lol.

I think I was more or less trying to get personal input on the SFAS course, not like google-able stuff, but personal stories, if anyone tried and didn't make it or did make it. Google only goes so far, but I figured I could ask real people for real life experience.

that is a great site with a very good message board. Do you have the books Get Selected and Chosen Soldiers? The first one tells you what you need to do and the second goes over the entire training from start to finish. I am reading Chosen Soldiers right now.

If you are currently in the Army can you re-enlist for the 18X program? If so, how does that work? Do you go through Infantry OSUT and Airborne and then Selection?

Firstly, Thanks for the books. I'm going to check them out and see if Barnes or Borders have them.

Secondly, I am currently a Reservist, but I got release from Reserves to Active duty and the only MOS available to reclass to for my rank is 18X. Since I am not an infantryman, I would have to go to Infantry OSUT and Airborne and all that regular route. But I just am not sure how far into OSUT they would let me begin as I completed Basic already. And I know that the Infantry Drill Sgts arent gonna like reclasses lol. But check out the HRC Business Rules for Prior Service info. USAREC's facebook posts them as soon as they come out monthly. Or check with your recruiter.
