MOS? Most likely you will be leaving there after AIT.

I did basic years back in Ft. Wood
                Things i remember:
                Gorilla Ugly Women
Gorilla ugly women with whiskey and tube tops
                Mud that smells like pee
                Rain that falls up
                Tin barracks
Oh and the single light that was on in the middle of the night

Did basic there in 87. Wooden barracks were the reception barracks and the brick ones were the ones we slept in and cleaned cause thats all we did in them. We had zero free time. Our drill Sgt. kept us very busy. It was hot that summer. My guess is its cold and snowing now. I would do it all over again met alot of friends.

                        Good Luck!
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

My favorite part about Lost in the Woods, being in an MOS that I knew would never bring me back there.

Graduated boot camp there in '87 (C13). It was the coldest I had ever been in all my 17 years. Have fun "back packing", you will most certainly do enough of it. Good luck!

Good luck! Avoid the drama and focus on getting the hell out of there! The first few days of BCT at the reception battalion are the worst because your Drill Sergeants will be running you around and yelling before you really know what's going on. Once you get to your barracks it's a lot easier to stay focused on your training.
