First time when I was in Iraq, we were still consider fighting force or fighting unit. However, second time I went to Iraq in year 2007 and station in Army base. It was little weird because MPs were giving out tickets to service members who drives over 25MPH and service members who J-walk. It was little weird experience for those who went to Iraq when the war started because there was no such thing as MPs giving out tickets to anyone. At the end, they made humvee driving course and even issue paper humvee license for those who passed. I got my license taken away in Iraq after getting two tickets by MPs. Good old times lol
MPs didnt give me a break when I told them my speedometer is broken and Uncle Sam does not have money to buy new one. They told me I was driving 27MPH in 25MPH zone. Less than a month, almost everyone in my company either got their license taken away in Iraq or received tickets. Nothing against those MPs because its their job.Last edited by BoJackUSMC; 12-24-2010, 10:52 AM. -

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

I was on my way home one day and I noted the Security Forces (AF MP) at the T which I was making a left turn on to get to the gas station which was less than 100m from the intersection. I was pulled over for not stopping (I stopped...) when I was handing over my information the partner of the security forces had her M16 at the ready. It was such a satisfying moment to say I was a contractor at that point, they had no authority and had to leave it with a warning.sigpic

You can't spell PIMP without MP either.
I saw guys doing that at the larger posts in Afghanistan also. I'd be hating life if I had to work LE duties for a deployment. Most of us either get attached to combat arms units, or the big push now is training up the Afghan Police. I did a little of both during my deployment, but no LE duty.First time when I was in Iraq, we were still consider fighting force or fighting unit. Some army MP tried to give me a ticket for not having a reflective belt on at Bagram. I thought Security Forces were bad but Army MP's.......YIKES!sigpic United States Air Force Security ForcesComment

I remember in Iraq in 05/06 they were doing the same at LSA Anaconda, Victory/BIAP, etc...
They'd drive those John Deer's or Pickup Trucks, Giving Tickets, and if you had to 'pay' they'd make you fill sandbag's for x-amount of hours. Ontop of that they'd sit at the front gates of major fob's waiting for people entering too face, etc.. SF i never had a problem with.
I got 'detained' at Fort Irwin in Training, the stupid MP's tried to Strip Search me, took my belt and boot laces, etc. etc. In Training, and I'm a soldier
Civilian Cops on post aren't bad, just e3's with power trips
