Happy veterans day to all the veterans here. Yes, even the marines.

Today is a day set aside for us to contemplate our service, to take pride in it, and to show our community what it means to be a veteran. Take pride in what you have done, and what you continue to do. As my 1SG said on the eve of our Iraq deployment...

"No matter what you do for the rest of your lives, no one can take away what you are about to do here."

So it is with all of us. Whether you served in wartime or peacetime, found yourself in combat or guarding the homeland, have pride in what you have done. Nothing could make me more proud to have served with those that I did, and nothing could make me more proud of each and every one of you.
