Hey guys I am new just transferred from japan active duty military and now live in Otay ranch. I own a mosin nagant and a XD 9...looking for a good outdoor range to shoot at around my area.

Try project 2000 in El Cajon. Where you stationed at?

There is also an indoor range in claremont named American shooting center. They only have a 25 yard range but they allow rifles

El Brandon, I have no recommendations, but there is a San Diego sub forum on here that I have seen mention of some BLM outside Otay area. I would check that part of the forum.

Discount gun mart - ghetto , douchey service but fairly 20 yrd available pistol ammo only range.

American Shooting Center - nice establishment , decent customer service , rifle/pistol/shotgun 25 yrd range.

Project 2000 - Very nice range , can shoot almost any ammo there , 100/50/25 yrd ranges and outdoor ranges as well as archery .. definately recommonded and very good service

Ironsights - havent been but i hear good things if you are willing to drive out there

The BLM land is currently closed .. there are about 3-4 main spots and they are currently closed for some reason .

South Bay rod and gun club is an outdoor range. Rifle out to 300.
I wouldn't say that Project 2000 has outdoor ranges because they are mainly for private training or once in a while rimfire shooting. The trap/skeet ranges are of course outside though.
