    Favorite posts?

For you soldiers out there, what was your favorite duty station? And also, does anyone have any personal experience with Ft. Carson or Ft. Lewis?

i have been to Ft. Lewis several times in my career. only for school and such but not permanent party. i like it nice post also. PX is pretty good Clothing and Sales has lots of stuff in it. rains alot there though.

Ft. Irwin is one of my favorite bases. i have seen go from a dump of a base to an updated post. allthough it's been about 7 yrs since i have been there it's way better now than the first time i was there in Aug. of 1990.

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

I was stationed at Ft. Carson and really enjoyed it. There is plenty of outdoor stuff to do. There is great hunting, fishing and hiking. They have a range on post that you can use as well as stocked ponds to fish. If you dig the outdoors, then it's the place to be.

Ft. Irwin was a good post as well. I was there in 2006 and they have done a lot of work on that post. The big inconvenience was that it was far from the nearest city, about a 40 minute drive. The nice things though that it was fairly close to Vegas and there was plenty of desert to shoot and hike in.

Fort Polk, Fort Dix, Fort Ord, Fort Hamiliton, Fort Wadsworth, Fort Kobee, Fort Irwin, Camp Roberts, Fort Hunter ligget all sucked. Fort Bliss was my favorite. I guess because I'm a Texan and partial to Texas.

I dont think Ive ever heard anyone say Irwin was their favorite base lol. I was living in riverside up until about 5 months ago, and my parents are still out there. It would be close to home and I could visit a lot., and my brother lives in Vegas... lol i just never thought of barstow as anything other than a poo hole desert good for offroading haha... but what did you like about it? How were the barracks? The recruiter did say that if you pick that on your wish list you're pretty much guaranteed to get it.

Kirchgoens WEST Germany, 3/36inf(mech). Everybody still loved us back then. Atatched is pic of Ayers Kaserne now. Its abandoned. The place mark was the barracks I lived in.

People actually like Fort Irwin? I guess since I have only been there for NTC I have a biased opinion. The housing looked pretty nice though. My wife and I are thinking of putting in for Fort Carson next. We are at Schofield Barracks right now. It isn't to bad. It is very laid back there and some of the housing is terrible. But it is in Hawaii so that is a plus.
