What are the other services policy on watches? In the CG, the uniform manual just says they must be conservative, I believe.

Same thing as sunglasses. Nothing crazy.

I have a Timex Expedition. $35 can't beat that. I just got a new one because that other one had a fake leather band that smelled really bad. Same watch, just a different band.

Some form of cheap ($40) casio illuminator. Got it because it has both analogue and digital displays. (I find analogue to be a lot easier to see in low-light conditions).

After surviving Basic and OCS, it finally died at Ft Knox. I went to Walmart, looked at the various items on offer. Including a Casio G-Shock for a couple of hundred dollars. Turns out that the G-Shock didn't really do anything that the illuminator couldn't do for me for far less money. Like tell the time.

So I got another illuminator. That one survived a year in Iraq in a tank (if you want vibrations and knocks, that's about as good as they come), four years in the US, a year in Afghanistan, and is finally approaching the end of its service life because the strap sockets are worn out and every now and then the thing falls off.

          NTM

I still have my G Shock from when I graduated boot camp in '93. Still works.

Work: Timex Ironman or Luminox 3955. I was never into Luminox's till my lil bro did 3 tours with his and he has only changed the band and bezel because it was scratched up pretty good. He hooked me up with one and I like it alot.
