Cav, I totally agree. Worrying about my marriage is the least of my concerns. I'm also not concerned about combat arms. It takes great men (and women) to place themselves in harms way. I love this country and our American way of life, and I'm will to make that sacrafice for this country and our people. Of course, I'm not planning on it.
    Build AR-15 (My version of a M4)
Glock 23 (CA Due date.. 3/2/12)
    Moss 590
    Next... Remington 700?

Thank you sir, I truely appreciate it.

Being that your are/were an MP, how do/did you like it? If you could go back to MEPS, would you go for 31B again?

Why not think about your future...leaving the military as an MP you will have NOTHING to offer the civilian world. Police agencies will take a new hire over a former MP for the simple fact it is easier to train someone in civilian law enforcement rather than retrain a former MP who already has Military law enforcement drilled into them. Why not choose an MOS that will give you skills and training you can take into the civilian world?

I've only been pulled over by the MPs once. For speeding on a base in Iraq because we were hungry after a long patrol and the genii who run the chow hall kept regimented hours. Unlike our patrols. However, to the MPs credit, at least he didn't mistake his authority for his rank. Nothing will piss off an NCO or officer more than a junior-grade MP who thinks that because he's authorised to give tickets that he is excempt from basic military courtesies. (You never know when the person you've just pulled over has the MP BN CSM's cell number...)

Anyway, that's all outsourced to contractors now. MPs now get their bad rep for going around Bagram Airfield fining people for not wearing high-visibility reflective belts.

Why go into the Military and learn a skill that I have no desire to use in the civilian world? Why would I want to be stuck doing a job in the Military that I wouldn't take in the civilan world too. It just doesn't make much sence. I understand if the goal of going into the Military is to aquire job training but thats not why I'm joining. I hear this so much. I don't want to be a medic in the military, or work on computers, et al... Because I have no plan of doing that later.

If you don't care about gaining a new skill and are joining the military for god, country, and adventure then man up and go infantry.....if your joining becuase you don't know what else to do with your life than go be an MP
