Just did a match in Iwo Jima in Battlefield 1943......Japanese got stomped hardcore. We got pushed back to Mt. Suribachi(ironic huh) but managed to get a tank and push our way out of the slaughter. We flew down the mountain like an avalanche and completely pushed all the Japanese off the island. The only place they could spawn after that was on their Carrier but we had 3 planes doing strafing runs left and right......plus we had concrete bunkers with MG's pointed at the shore where their landing craft were landing........they never stood a chance. Most planes never made it off the carrier, some were lucky enough to fly 10 ft before getting blown out of the sky by our AA. Few landing craft made it ashore but the Japanese were quickly mowed down by intense M1 Garand fire. A lot of the landing craft were destroyed before they even got half way to the shore, those that abandoned their craft before they exploded were easy pickings by our snipers as they were just swimming around with no cover.
It was not forgotten....I made them pay dearly for every inch they took!
