Tatoo regulations.

Thought id throw this out there, not sure if there is any weight to this statement.

I was talking with a recruiter last week, he asked about tat's and I mentioned I had some stuff done on the inside of my right arm. He mentioned, and wasnt 100% sure, but was claiming they may have some new rules with tattoos on the saluting arm that would work against me.

Hope this isnt the case, would really like to go ANG

i was wondering about the inside forearm tat i got. i had it when i was in and was wondering if they would let me back in with it. i figure since i have pics of it when i was in i would be ok. but with the way things are nowadays?

I have a tat on my neck that gets me a lot of attention but didn't keep me from enlisting. As long as the tattoo doesn't fall under the restrictions found in the ar you're gtg.

remember that anything can be "waivered" so even if a tat is out of regs BEFORE he joins, he should be GTG.

Inside the forearm, and inside the bicep. He said the inside the forearm tat may be the issue.

not trying to say that recruiter doesn't know what he's talking about...but it sounds like he doesn't. I also have one on my inner forearm (on both sides). if it is not gang-related or offensive in nature there shouldn't be a problem.

all i'm saying is, knowing what i know now, don't let him do any flightline work for the AF. the flightline takes your soul.

Some relatively new rules for the USMC state that any tats must be covered by your PT uniform, so (short) shorts, and pretty short sleeves as well.

If he is just standing there a t-shirt covers it. moving around will uncover the bottom of it though.
