    question, Having a debate with a buddy.

    I'm arguing with a buddy of mine right now about MOS 21B Combat Engineer. I am arguing that a Combat engineer can not become a sniper correct? He says they can, Like I said I am not SURE but I thought only MOS 19D scout cav and 11B can become snipers or MP's on SRT. Even if it is possible it is extremely likely? Or you can attend the school but not "be a sniper" Correct? Someone with a little more info please chime in before I bet money in this and lose haha.

    Last month I fartin around on AKO and checking out the hooah schools and the prerequisite for Sniper school was 11c, 11b, 11m, 18 series and 19d. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I think your buddy is watching "Hurtlocker" too much
    Someone told me the other day (it may be wrong info since its heresay) that the Army now is cutting down schools for more orientated towards MOS's that benifit from them. This would mean less guys graduating in Benning would be stuck in Airborne Hold ect ect. Again someone correct me if I'm wrong since that last part was heresay. I know the guy I was talking to was pissed and dissapointed because he wanted to go to Jumpschool or Airassault but he was a Tanker and got denied for that reason.
    Buy my EO Tech XPS3-0!!!

      I was told that I probably wouldn't get any high speed schools unless I was in a unit that needed the skills or if I got them in my contract when I reup.

      And I was told that in the off chance you can get a slot before you reup, you have to be a PT stud and qualify high in marksmanship.

          EOD and Combat Engineers work together but they different MOS's.

          18 series is special forces. 18x is special forces candidate.

          You can look up all the MOS's on www.goarmy.com or just google it.

            I hope it's not hearsay. My jump seat scheduled for last august got canceled probably because some soldier got it. My new one is for april, hopefully it doesn't fall through like last time.

                I made a few marine buddies when I was in Jump School. One of Recon and was a dick so I was just one back and we ended up getting along. We was a recycle because he broke a finger in an NTV OUCH! The other was like stuck in limbo on Benning forever. We would go and party every night after his shift and my school. I used to make fun of him because he would talk about how badass he was because he was a Marine but you put a pretty little Georgia peach in front of him with big brown eyes and he shook like a leaf on a tree
                Anyways, Jumpschool would of been better to go through with all my friends from OSUT but they got put on the back burner because 2/3rds of the slots were taken by non infantry units. A LOT of officers from all branches who didnt even need it. Just wanted it for promotion points or for those who kissed *** the most.
                You will love the school. Its really fun. Just keep your feet and knees together and eyes on the horizon. Oh, and if you like boxers or go commando, go with briefs with the swing line trainer. You'll thank me later

                    One of our guys here is going to switch over to EOD. He took the test and was a PT stud. I think he was the only one who could do the run in the suit that tried out for one of the seminars.

                      If he joined the British Army ( Royal Engineers), he could lol. Every Engineer is Combat engineer, then join a commando or airborne unit. Opens up a new world of infantry schools as long as you can pass the respective courses. i preferred the EOD route, lot less running around with stupid amounts of weight.

                        EOD = crazy
                        Airborne = not so crazy
                        Airborne jumping with military issued equipment = absolutely nuts

                        ...and I jump from airplanes on a regular basis. The military could not pay me enough money to jump with their crappy gear... The Brits get getter jump gear than American do!

                        The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.

                          Yeah thats true. My buddy was 3 PARA and did the US jump school. He said the U.S issue chutes were almost dangerous. But you guys get better weapons/ground equipment so it evens out lol.
