    Pt Scores?

I just finished taking a PT score and was curios as to what you all get or got on your PT test.

    I just did:
    Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT)

    80 PU
    72 SU
    15:18 Run

    I am 22 years old.

    Total score of 263.

That is one of the worst run times I have ever gotten but no excuses.

    Your turn.

    OOH OOH BRAGGING TIME!

    Marine Corps PFT:

    20 pullups
    100 crunches
    20:12 3 mile run

    Total: 286

I know someone on here's gonna beat that, but that's my best and most recent (as of October)

Mock PFT I ran before going on float with the 31st MEU:

        20 Pull Ups
        100 Sit ups
        20:30 3 mile run.

        285. Definitely should be getting that 300 as a 19 year old though.

USAFR PFT (last one accomplished before retirement in '07 @ age 41)

            50* Push Ups/1 minute = 10 pts.
            50* situps/ 1 minute = 10 pts.
            31" waist = 30 pts.
            12:44 /1.5 miles = 39 pts. *sigh* just 10 seconds faster & i'd have scored an 'Excellent'.

            * I could've done more than 50 but would not have earned more points (10 max.).

            Total = 89 pts. out of a possible 100.

Are you younger guys walking or running? At your ages you should be hitting 300 with time to spare. Move your a**!

how does the Corps require pull ups to be performed? hands "over" or "under" the bar? And you have to go all the way back down - not that halfway down B.S. right?

Complete dead hang. You can do pull ups or chin ups.

my scores are not that important to me. the fact is i pass mine everytime and kids 20 yrs. younger than me fail it on a regular basis.

last PT as of Oct. 09

                      sit ups. 45
                      situps 50
                      run 16:45

and i'm 39 yrs. old scores don't mean squat to me.

i also consider APFT and individual event if you can't get you SH*T together to pass it. it is up the individual to get in shape to pass it. i'm no babysitter. no one craddeled me to pass it.

Air Force hasn't used the stationary bike in several years.

They now have a composite score based upon the following:

Run Time - 1.5 Miles: Max 50 points
                          # Situps in a minute: Max 10 Points
                          # Pushups in a minute: Max 10 points
                          Body Composition: Max 30 points

Minimum points to pass = 75 points.

The point scale is based upon gender and age. The older you get, the longer the time to run the 1.5 miles, and the more points you get for less situps/pushups.

Under the "bike test" you could be a Jaba the Hut fat slob and still pass the test. I have seen pack a day smokers ace the test due to the heartrate readings.

                          Not anymore.

Now you have to have a waist measurement below a certain standard to get enough points to pass. If the waist is over a certain size, 0 points = fail the test.

Air Force is changing its system to make it even more difficult. Under the current system, you could ace the body composition and the run, and then not even do the situps and pushups and still pass. Under the new system, if you fail any of the 4 areas you fail the whole test.

If you haven't seen it with your own eyes,
or heard it with your own ears,
don't make it up with your small mind,

I was a "300" PFT'er a couple of times in the Corps. Once while on Okinawa and the other was on El Toro (right after coming back from Bridgeport).

I always did 20 pullups (even without the "kip") and ran in the high 18s or low 19s. What I had the hardest time with was the darn situps!!

I usually got somewhere between 280 and 29X on my PFTs.
