Reclass to 21B?

I am in AIT for 25U, Signal Support Systems Specialist and I have come to realize that this is not the MOS for me. I though I was going to be fixing radios and doing hands on stuff right with the infantry and what not. In reality, I could be stuck in an office filling out forms. And we don't fix anything, we trouble shoot it send it to a different shop to fix it. Most of the people I have come across in this MOS are out of shape in lazy.

How hard is it to reclass and do you guys recommend Combat Engineer? From what I have seen and read it looks good. Lots of construction and explosives.

I am still in AIT, I graduate this month and then I am going to the 25ID in Hawaii.

Is there anything I can do or am I just stuck with it?

If I remember correctly, Active Duty cannot reclass until they re-enlist.

As for becoming a combat engineer...how would you like to drink heavily, break sh*t and blow things up?

I can wait until I re-enlist but I would much rather do it sooner.

I don't drink but I love to break sh*t and blow things up. Sounds like the right place for me. How do you like your MOS?

Can you re-enlist before your contract is up or do I have to wait the whole 4 years?
