    Pearl Harbor Day

Just remembering my Grandpas who fought in WWII and how it all started in the Pacific.

Then, Sir, we will give them the bayonet! (Stonewall Jackson's reply to Colonel B.E. Bee when he reported that the enemy were beating them back. At the first battle of Bull Run, July 1861)

I had a moment of silence this morning. I have yet to hear anyone even mention it here on base
I asked my girl back home if she knew what today was and she had to google it. I asked what she would think if people forgot 9/11, she told me that she would because "it happened in her generation."
I'm not talking to her right now

President Franklin D. Roosevelt: Yesterday, December 7, 1941—a date which will live in infamy—the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.

In the morning formation today they asked if anyone knew what was significant about this day. Many of the people sounded off with the correct answer, surprisingly.

today and june 6th seem to get overlooked every year. They are both very important days that we need to remember.

I got married on June 6. D-Day. My wife and I wrote letters to each other that her aunt read at the beginning of the ceremony and I compared our wedding to D-Day in it.

Sixty eight years ago, my squadron was stationed at Hickam Field, Hawaii.

At 7:48 a.m. Hawaii local time, the Japanese Empire attacked the United States Forces stationed in Hawaii without warning.

Four members of my squadron lost their lives in the attack.

Please take a moment this morning to remember and honor them, and all of our fallen brothers.

If you haven't seen it with your own eyes,
or heard it with your own ears,
don't make it up with your small mind,
or spread it with your big mouth.
