Stormfeather and I are from B Co in Dublin, they're just getting back from deployment right now. We brought a lot of the Charlie Rock guys with us too.

I'd recommend going to whatever one is closer to you though, which sounds like C Co due to the fact that when we go out to the field we almost always go out as a BN and train together so you'll get the same deal out of it without having to travel farther.

C Co 1-184th is your best bet. 530-823-4917 will get you their Readiness NCO. You may want to be up front with your intention of getting a new MOS. I believe they are at full strength and that might make the 1SG more apt to allow a TRF after such a short time in the unit.

I think all of the 1-184 is Light, isn't it? The 1-160th is the only mech infantry unit in CA if I'm not mistaken (and then there's the 1-18th Cav).

Hey sorry D money for the thread Jack...... But what is the reason you went to the Army after the corps? Just wondering....

My buddy is gone...as in, got orders, got shipped to the SandBox. I was just down in SLO for quals w/my unit. There were a bunch of soldiers running around w/red training guns/radios.

I didn't have to go WTC. I'm prior enlisted Marine Corps.

Well, the Marine Corps decided to enforce the tattoo policy. My lil bro and I went out and got sleeved up so when we both got the bright idea to reenlist reserves, they laughed at us. I still love the Corps regardless.

Army Reserve said they'd give me nice bonus etc. I qualified for some cool stuff and since my Uncle (RIP) was a retired SF SFC I thought I'd go Army. He was pretty disappointed that I went Corps instead of Army back then...

Thanks for the info. The recruiter told me to do the same thing, enlist as 11B then after 6 monthes write a letter to my first sergeant stating that I would like to change my MOS to be eithe MP or EOD since it is what I would like to do in my civilian career. But honestly the more I think about it, I wouldnt mind being 11B1P again, just dont feel like hearing it from the wife and the in -laws again

. Don't go in as a 11B and try to get another MOS. It won't happen! Once the Grunts get you, they're not letting you go. You need to talk to the First Sargeant(Readiness NCO) of the unit you're interested in and try that way.
