Fellow CalGuner?s currently in service
BLUF:
If you (any valid CAC holding service member in any service) shoot any of the World-wide Chief, Army Reserve Postal Matches to standard I (USAR CPT) will provide a regulation letterhead Memorandum of Record of said accomplishment.
If you shoot four of the courses of fire I will submit you for your respective service?s Achievement Medal.
Conditions:
1) Sunnyvale Rod and Gun Club has gone back to not charging LEO?s and Military for range use. All you have to do now is coordinate with me, and we can execute the course of fire on a Saturday after the range closes to the public, and as my guest we have two more hours of range use to use the facility in a manner we need to for the course of fire.
a. If you want free range time you will need to present your valid CAC ID.
2) I understand there are limitations to the weapons platforms in the postal match regulations. Since the regulation allows for any configuration of weapon so long as it is your issued layout I am allowing any centerfire rifle in any configuration you desire. Since, technically the regulation would allow for any modern issued military rifle with any modern issued military optic.
(If you want to use a lever action 44MAG with a 10X optic, knock yourself out, it?s not a competitive advantage)
3) What you and your chain of command do with the Memorandum of Record is up to you. Maybe they care. Maybe they don?t. I personally think it is an opportunity for a bullet on one?s Annual Evaluation Report (certainly the E5-E6 level).
a. If you want a memorandum sent to your Mil mail you will fill out and sign DD2670 Qualification to Possess Firearms or Ammunition. I will have the forms on hand.
4) Contact me via IM here on CalGuns and we can coordinate a day at the Sunnyvale Range.

Intent:
I personally would like to get some USAR competitive shooting momentum going on the West Coast. Clearly, it?s not going to happen. So I have to do something to make it happen.
1) I have access to range in a manner I can execute various courses of fire within the restrictions of the range I am a member of. So I am picking and choosing various courses of fire out of the regulation that are recognized as a Postal Match per the USAR that I can execute at my range.
2) While I do not have the command influence to incent or reward or recognize anyone?s accomplishments outside of my rated soldiers I can provide a witness account in the from of a memorandum of record, and your chain of command can do whatever they feel is appropriate with it.
3) If this builds into a local community and enough service members start to participate then I will have the ability to get more designated range use time from the club and host more formalized matches.
