    Guy Clark - Randall Knife

This song freaked me out the first time I heard it. I had done the same as the boy in the song.

Randall knives were still highly prized in SF when I was in the military. There was a long backlog when I tried to order mine so I ended up with a Cold Steel Trail Bowie. My Trailmaster was stolen when my truck was broken into at the airport a few years back. Lots of memories in that knife, it's the only thing I want back from that break in.

You know the three Rs in SF:

    A Rolex
    The Team Ring
    And a Randall.

You had to have one of each, and you will be able to get out of any trouble.

    Or so I've heard.

A dear friend of mine gave me his not too long ago. It is a beautiful knife, perfect in its simplicity.

There is a three to six year waiting list for them right now.

Oh... and to the OP, thanks for making me cry you freak!!!

      From their website:

Currently, we are scheduling knife deliveries for the first quarter of 2014. Randall order limit is one knife every three months per household.

I know in 2005 he had a special deal that was not addvertised much. If you were a active duty soldier, deployed or deploying to somewhere that you get HD/HF pay you could get one of three knives. I believe they were the Model 1, Model 14 and I cant recal the 3rd but you got your knife in 6 to 8 weeks. You could not get any special request items done because I wanted the 14 with border patrol handle but had to stick with the original.
I carried my Model 1 with me while I was in Iraq. On a sad note my BN CDR was killed while he was wearing his MDL 18 that he received as a gift when he graduated from ROTC. It was a topic of conversation between us as we were the only 2 soldiers in our Task Force that carried Randall's.

Don't they now go with the Chris Reeves Yarborough?
