Hi guys!
This is going to be a weird question, but I gotta do it.
I'm trying to track down any records for a specific M1911A1 that I'm fairly sure was issued to/used by the Marine Corps. It has an Albany Arsenal rebuild stamp, which seems to have been used by the Marines for their 1911s according to various internet people.
So to that note, I'm trying to provide as many specifics as I can for the paperwork I want. In a nutshell, I'd love to see any and all documentation that may include this pistol, from issuing to individual Marines to its path back to the arsenal and eventual storage/disposition. I'm asking for the DOD-1348 along with any Crane Registry records.
Do any of you Marines happen to know of any other record types I could request or ask for? I totally get this is a long shot and if this turns up empty, I'm no worse off.
