    Care Package

    Hey guys...

I have a buddy who just came out of basic and is in Arizona now. He's at Fort Huachuca in the MI program and from what it sounds like, things are pretty laid back. So I was gonna send him a box of stuff for himself and the guys in his unit. What should I send? I asked him and he basically told me he could get most things at the "army wal-mart" or whatever it was he called it, but other than telling me I couldn't send porn or anything dangerous he couldn't really tell me anything. He's just that type of dude though, he wouldn't ask for anything. So pretty much what I've already got to send is a stack of CD's and some burned DVD's. I might throw in some books, but other than that, I wouldn't have the first idea of what would be useful or wanted out there. Any suggestions?

COFFEE!! Coffee is worth its weight in gold at camp... If he needs anything else he will easily be able to trade the coffee for what he needs. Send Lots and Lots of instant coffee.
    Here kitty kitty...

Don't need to send him anything. Sierra Vista has everything he'll need (if not at the PX) and Tucson's 70 miles away. DO TELL HIM TO GO TO RUDOLFOS off 7th and Fry (by the Jack in the Box) and order a #14 Carnitas Plate.

Oh, and tell him Sorry Gulch and Pin Ups suck and not worth the money. Tell him to save it for Obsessions in Nogales Mexico

Sending him coffee would be a big waste of money. There's a shoppette within 5 minutes (walking) of his barracks and the main PX is about a 15 min walk or a quick ride over. Taxis to most places off post is cheap, like 5 bucks each way.

He'll have free roam of the area.

I always found Hickory Farms sausage, Cheese Whiz, Crackers, Sardines and Choc Chip cookies an awesome thing to get when I was deployed. Magazines too.

Don't ask me how I know this but Jim Beam is the same color as Listerine.

I'm definitely gonna tell him about the restaurants, he's a Mexican dude and I guess there was a bad shortage of Mex food in SC. And that jogged my memory, it was the PX that he referred to as the Wal-Mart.

I was just trying to think of the stuff that isn't really practical to go out and buy, like spending a bunch of money on cd's when I may or may not be a music pirate already.

My son is stationed at Ft Huachuca. What a ****hole Great PX though.
Sierra Vista has everything he could need including crack hoes...
Doubt you need to send him anything. Tucson and Phoenix are close.

Cheap Absinthe (the green stuff) is the same color as Green Listerine too. And even tastes/smells the same...hmmm...
