Memorial day is for remembering those who have fallen.
From my first deployment to my last, my unit I was with, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, had lost alot of good men. Marines, I went to boot camp, SOI/ITB, hit the fleet with and deployed with gave their lives up fighting against the enemy. My last deployment suffering the heaviest causality, 25 KIA and even more wounded. After we came back from deployment, others would still succumb to their inner demons.
To all of the service members who passed away, celebrate their lives and keep them alive in your memories. That's what they would want. For us to remember them and having fun, not to mourn for them. Live our life to the fullest.
