My son is finally going out to the fleet!

After four tough years at Annapolis, my son Kyle has had to deal with frustrations of the scheduling for attending/completing nuke and sub schools. What probably could have been done in 10 months has taken two years (which, as a kid with an engineering-oriented brain, has driven him crazy).

Just got a call from him today that he is will be reporting to the USS Tucson in Pearl Harbor in the next several weeks. San Diego was his first choice, but Pearl was his second.

He's a great kid. I'm proud as hell of him. Glad that he will be coming back to this side of the country (sort of).

You should be... that's quite an accomplishment.

Congrats on USMA's win back in December! We always cheer for Navy, but their win streak had gotten to be pretty brutal.

And thanks to everyone for the congratulations for Kyle. He said he wanted a SSGN or SSBN, but I think he is going to enjoy the work of the fast attack boats.
