One more issue to consider, RE: FAL uppers. A lot of the uppers over there are cut for full auto sears, and it's an ATF no-no to possess one here. I agree its such a ubiquitous block of metal I'm sure you could probably just mail em without attention. But is your freedom worth it?

Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it. -
Ahhh I see the deal, even though you would need the parts to make the rifle full auto, some receivers will have space for the sear cut off. It would be nice to find these somewhere like that. One more issue to consider, RE: FAL uppers. A lot of the uppers over there are cut for full auto sears, and it's an ATF no-no to possess one here. Because you aren't a registered hunter out there it might be difficult. I wasn't allowed to take mine back in 2013, however I was able to purchase there. The MWR an outdoor recreation center building on most military bases will tell you how you can become a registered hunter and member of a gun club in order to obtain the permit. When I did it I remember it costing me around 500 USD (estimate since it was in euros), plus I needed special hunting equipment to test out (they will not provide). You'd be suprised on how many Germans you will meet love to hunt, especially if you are going to southern Germany.
Have you tried contacting your command and receiving instructions? I know our armory was limited, but perhaps they can store your weapons in an armory and just have them locked there until you PCS?Comment
