How can my wife get her military ID?

I was told that we can go to any military base and get it there. I don't know of any bases around where I am (a little north of San Francisco). Or where to go to get it on the base.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

    im guessing army?
    AF. there is travis,
MC. there is Sd camp Pendelton
And Navy you have Port Hueneme.
    Army there is Fort Ord.

but yeah you just go to the gate and tell the Mp.s that you need to get her a mil ID, show them yours, and your Lisc, Registration, that is if you dont have a sticker thing on your car. and they will tell you where to go...
None of my posts are serious or real, nothing I post is legal advice.

I am in the army so would I have to go to an army base? I was told any branch would work. Travis would be the closest to me.

I'm guessing you are just talking about the civilian ID card?

First the sponsor (You) need to enroll your dependent (Her) in DEERS then take her with you to any military base or other RAPIDS site if no base is near (not branch specific... does not need to be an Army base).

Ask the gate guard (or anyone you see) where the ID card office is. Once there, the personnel are usually pretty helpful and will guide you through the process. Also, you might take a copy of your marriage cert if she is your newly acquired wife (just in case).

After processing, they should take her picture and give her the ID while you wait.

Just how far North of SF are you? I believe there's a Coast Guard facility near Petaluma which might do them. I go to Coast Guard Island (Alameda), you can also hit Travis or Moffett.

If your dependent is already enrolled in DEERS (which was accomplished for me during Air Force Basic Training), you can go to Travis AFB Pass and ID. When I got out in May of 2007 it was located in the Main Admin building on top of the hill. When entering from the main gate, go straight down Travis Blvd all the way to the C-141 "Golden Bear" display (about 1 mile). The Pass and ID section was located in the back of the big building on the hill behind the aircraft. If you go in uniform you get to go ahead of all the retirees, and it is really worth it (30-45 min vs 2-3 hours)

The base operator can give you the current duty hours and phone number for them. They are open 5 days a week, but I'm not sure of the hours. The number for the base operator is 707-424-1111.

                    Hope this helps.
