    Enlisted in the USMC

After years of being fat, lazy, and overthinking my every move...

I finally swore into the USMC DEP.

Some of you may remember this thread: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=576448

Well after a very long day at MEPS, the doctor signed off on my vision and hearing and I was able to enlist.

For those of you considering enlistment, don't give up if its what you really want. Lose the weight, get in shape, and be honest at MEPS.

Thanks to everyone who provided advice and motivation!

Congratulations, I wish I would have stayed the distance and retired in but circumstances beyond my control stopped that wish. Hope you enjoy it, make the most of the opportunities that you can.

In boot camp, the longer your drill instructors don't know your name the better off you are. Priceless knowledge I wish I woulda known when I went.

The most life changing decision you have ever made. One thing that is very important for you to remember. "This too, will pass". It's gonna be tough and you may want to give up, just know, boot doesn't last forever. It may seem like the Drill instructors wants to get rid of you, they don't. You will have some fond memories, but it will take some time to realize it, lol.
Congratulations on making it in. Do what you are told when you are told, keep your mouth shut unless you are required to speak. Don't talk crap about anyone. Goodbye cell phone, lol.
