    Operator v Logistician Conflicts

I was just talking to an old buddy about the epic struggles we had between operators and logisticians.

Supply types want to keep all the gear placed nicely in the appropriate place, clean and rust-free, ready for inspection by other superior logisticians.

Operational guys (like me) understand the need for taking care of your gear, but also don't give a damn what it takes to win the fight. Give what I need!

In war, logisticians get beat up pretty bad, and have to do whatever the warriors ask. And we do ask for whatever we want! The logisticians hate us, since often, they get shot at delivering supplies! They exact their revenge in peace time, when inspections and accountability are paramount.

Anybody else have similar experiences? I'll bet there are not many supply types on Calguns.

Supply... The Cav Scouts arch nemesis.

Whatever they wont give us, we "accquire" by any means neccesary.

Ive put in 2 supply guys in the last year and told both of them "give it away!". I tried to explain that "its not your stuff, someone needs it to complete a mission"!

Had similar experiences, but I had an awesome supply NCO. Also, my platoon was the only one in the CO that left the FOB (MI). He understood that I actually needed that shiz.

Yep. Spent most of my time in Al Haweja supporting the 163rd or supporting the counter-intel teams or doing air assault missions with the scouts. Where were you?

A long time ago in an Army far far away (6 to 15 man EOD detachments) we normally had all the toys we needed to get the job done through the normal supply channels. It's always nice to be able to write off certain items as consumed in the line of duty. What wasn't available, we traded for with supply sergeants worried about shortages during their next IG.

Awesome. I worked with a couple different THT. The ones that I deployed with were missing the tactical part, though. The northern part of the country had some beautiful areas.
