Thanks for the update on this, bummer they still have the system based on confusion, but I assume this is intended. The cover letter was definitely confusing on several points and had the air of don’t apply or proceed further as it will be too costly and time consuming for you, even when renewing your permit.

She sent my email just after 8 pm, so working later to help the backlog I assume.

Will complete the live scan Wednesday. Any idea how long the County takes to complete each step? Example, once the live scan is sent to the County, how long does to take for them to reach out for the interview step?
The only thing that is worse than an idiot, is someone who argues with one.

      Update:

Got an email and Fremont PD suggested I could contact ACSO (where my original CCW was issued through) and see if they will renew through them. Also they said they would refund my $212 application fee if I did.

I emailed with my phone number and that evening (after hours) Judea called she said they would. No Psyc. exam ($400) and also no new fingerprints($115). Just the class and qualification(s). Asked where I would go for the class and I said Livermore where as she mentioned LEO Defensive Concepts. I called and registered for the next class.

Judea was courteous and helpful. She didn't specify any limiting timeframe to start the process or how long to complete a renewal. I didn't ask. My expiration date is 04/01/2025.

Now I emailed Fremont twice asking for the refund they offered but no response or acknowledgement of receipt as of yet.

Think a certified mail demand letter to the PD Chief is in order, or take the loss.
