    Donation vs. Membership?

Had a good conversation with a member yesterday regarding doing my part. In HS I was an NRA member but thought to myself why am I not now? Sure as heck have more money now than when I was in HS...

Does my a donation help more than a membership? This is for CRPA and NRA.
I don't need free member crap like hats or mugs, I'd rather that go into the funds for helping the shooting community and legal.

    Thanks

I’m a life member. CRPA does not give you junk. It is for sale if you want.

Everyone on here should join CRPA and GOA
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
    (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

Join both. NRA usually has a box to check to opt out of the swag. And most of the swag is close to worthless...figure actual value at one-tenth at most the quoted value of the swag.

          NRA:

Opt out of the swag and magazines.

          Opt out of extra letters/contact.

Do not give them your phone number.

I had to figure the last two out the hard way.

About the third time after joining I told them if I got another call they would never get another renewal.

They will be able to use more of your money elsewhere by saving a bit on mailings and manpower.

Did not know that, thank you.

Good to know. I would rather my money go to legal. The swag, magazines, etc is energy better spent elsewhere in my opinion. That is why I was asking if a donation would be better since I didn't know about the opt out.

Perhaps BOTH, like bdedich said numbers are needed.

Can't do the lifetime membership right now as my industry shut down since March. But I'll do what I can. Thanks Guys

Honestly the main thing that was holding me back from becoming a CRPA member is it isn't obvious on their site that I can pass on getting mail spam. If the magazine and stuff are digital I'm fine with that but I get enough crap in the mail as it is. Can I get the magazine and gun law guide in a digital-only format?

                  NRA/ILA is the legal branch.

Membership first - then donations whenever possible. This is what I do, personally.

Aside from the NRA, am a Life member here for both CRPA (gifted myself last Christmas after having been a member for a few years) and GOA (installment payments).

                    On the fight...!!
