      So, taxicab operators are allowed to carry on any public transportation vehicle, including the Metrorail transit system?
      a) No person holding a license issued pursuant to section 6 shall carry a pistol in the following locations or under the following circumstances:

      “(6) Any public transportation vehicle, including the Metrorail transit system, but not including taxicab operators;
      It may have been intended to state that licensees are allowed to carry concealed weapons in public transportation vehicles operated by taxicab operators. I say may because the statute is poorly worded. As currently phrased, it does appear to allow taxicab operators to carry pistols on public transportation vehicles.

        That was my thinking.....they're prolly trying to state that taxis are not considered public transportation.

        Also "taxicab operator" could be referring to the "taxi company" not the "taxi driver". (prolly one of those technical terminology kinda things...their local codes may use the term "taxi operator" to refer to the company that owns and operates all the cabs.)

          Insulting the Judge.

          The Palmer ruling was extremely well written, the Judge reviewed all the cases and wrote an appropriate ruling.

          He invalided their original law, but put a hold on his ruling until they could come up with a "reasonable system" that would "balance public safety and personal self defense" rights.

          The judge is ex-military, something tells me he isn't going to put up with this crap. DC may get "constitutional carry" for being arrogant.

            Absolute arrogance in how they violate the laws is even more appalling.

              Does this mean nearly every restaurant?

                I read it to mean that. Places that don't serve alcohol would be exempt.... unless there was some other disqualifying factor... which I'm sure they'd concoct if they had to.
