Calgunners seem anti-gun for policemen in Ferguson?

It is puzzling to watch american news regarding ferguson when applied to 2nd amendment. First, if media is to be believed, every american has a gun or 2. So one would think there would be gunbattles like Ramala in St. Louis...not rock throwing and window breaking like unarmed west bank. Can someone please explain why this is? Why do these blacks seem to be completely unarmed when their nike shoes or apple phones cost more than a simple gun?

2nd, why does it seem like american right wingers are against police being heavily armed with whatever armament they can acquire? Couldn't the local police or the national guard be part of the 'militia' enshrined in your constitution? Why should one fear these arms in use for good, especially when each member of the population could easily get these things....assault rifle, tear gas, bullet proof vest, ballistic helmet, armoured car...at their own homes if desired. There seems to be a disconnect. Is international media mis-reporting what is going on in your country?

Answer to number one. Being armed doesn't mean armed confrontation with the police. I bet most of the people there own firearms but since it is a protest about the police shooting an unarmed teen, showing up WITH arms would cause the police to shoot even more.

Answer to number two. The police are not the military, to militarize the police is a back door to civilian military control. An armored car is fine for taking on a barricaded suspect but to roll tanks down a middle American street is over kill. To be exact though, it isn't just "right wingers" that are having a problem with it. The "left wingers" are seeing it is over kill now too.

What I don't get is the continued rioting and looting after 10 PM, isn't that about the time of day when tweakers start their day?

So the other thing that I don't get, if a civilian is beating on a LEO and unarmed, the LEO shouldn't have the right to shoot the law abiding peaceful civilian?
