Police tell citizens of Detroit: Buy Guns!

Now we're on the right track:

City police chief has encouraged residents to arm themselves as stark racial disparities in ‘shoot first’ laws become clear

“I think it’s a disaster. How do you grow a city when you say to people who are thinking about moving there: ‘When you move here, bring a weapon.’ Who’s going to want to move there?”
I think that it's much better to say "...move here but bring a weapon..." Than "move here, be a victim of violent crime..."!

And a house for $500!!! That must be the one of the nastiest holes in the ground ever built.

          Found one for $200.

            Current article, but duplicate topic.

For example, from January - http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...hlight=detroit
ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

The fact that the reporter kept using the term "shoot-first laws" rather than just calling it a stand your ground law and then tried to blame it on the "skeptics" is very telling.

Greedy public employee unions destroyed Detroit, they will end up destroying CA and NY as well.
"Prohibit the peasants from owning katanas, wakizashis, arrows, spears, or matchlock rifles. If the peasants are armed, they will not pay nengu (taxes) and they will not be subordinate to the officials."

Toyotomi Hideyoshi's Sword Hunt Edict of 1588, establishing the class division between the peasants (commoners) and the samurai (the governing elites).

The unions are a huge problem especially the cost of retirement and other benefits. The major factor that has destroyed California is the majority of the voting public.
California's politicians and unionized government employees are a crime gang that makes the Mexican drug cartels look like a Girl Scout Troop in comparison.

That and public unions are the biggest donors of the Democrats.

However, it seems that the voting public are getting sick of overly paid public employee unions. The LADWP isn't getting that much support from the public, and wasn't it recently that a federal judge ruled in favor of parents and students who called on that teacher union tenureships as unconstitutional?

I think we're at the turning point here in CA to reduce the powers of public unions. If you ask me, why public government employees need to have unions are a total mystery beyond me. Unions in the private sector have been going down, but public sector keeps going up!

I bet you a coffee if we ever meet that 99% of incumbent California politicians will get reelected. The majority of Californians are that dumb.

The gun proponents are given lots of room to state their case, with lots of statistics given as backup, and there's no effort to portray them as nutjobs by the reporter. It's actually a really well-balanced article, especially when taking the European perspective into account.
