Getting back to the OP's original topic - here's my thought's on Dr. Carson:
1) While he is a brilliant man and doctor - I don't see how he is qualified to be president. IMHO, no matter what one's political views are, a candidate needs to have extensive leadership experience. Pres. Obama is an excellent example of what happens when someone who has never lead a large organization is elected to the highest office in the land. Rep. Allen West - in contrast - is a black conservative who has such experience.
2) I certainly disagree with Carson's statements - but it is not surprising that this is how he sees things. Until recently he was busy being an inner city doctor. We may yet be able to change his mind. Sometimes we are too quick to write people off. I hope that, in time, we can change his mind.
All of that said, I could not vote for him - unless the alternative was much worse.
