Moving to "shall issue" as economic "stimulus" plan?

How many of us will go out & buy a new gun that might be easier for CCW? How many of us will spend more time at the range & buy more ammo than "normal" How many of use will get friends & family doing the same? What will that ripple effect be?

What about the larger public as a whole? Yeah sure the % of people in ANY state that have CCW's is small - yet behavior might change accordingly if the CCW seems to carry it's current trajectory.

I think a legitimate argument could be made that relaxed CCW can be viewed as an economic "stimulus" plan....

    Seem absurd?

Perhaps - but consider this, when the current administration is claiming that it's a positive when 2.5 MILLION people will loose their jobs - and few people call that utter BS & the zenith of absurdity.

    honest reporting
Yesterday, Washington’s official non-partisan bean-counter, the Congressional Budget Office, dropped a bomb. By 2024, says the CBO, Obamacare will reduce the size of the U.S. labor force by 2.5 million full-time-equivalent workers. That’s roughly triple what the CBO had estimated three years ago. Such a sizeable decline in the labor force will have substantial detrimental effects on the U.S. economic and fiscal picture. But the CBO wasn’t responsible for the most amazing thing that happened yesterday. That title belongs to the Obama White House, where Press Secretary Jay Carney claimed that 2.5 million Americans leaving the workforce was a good thing, because they would no longer be “trapped in a job.”

    dishonest spin

Not trying to make this a political discussion on the merits (or lack thereof) of 'ObamaCare' - just pointing out that serious news outlets have reported .... many with straight faces the White Houses talking points.

In that light, I think we can legitimately point out economic benefits of CCW.

The only flaw I see is that it assumes they actually want improved economic prosperity.

I'm not convinced that they do. Economic prosperity = more people able to take care of themselves = less reliance on gov't = less power for politicians.

And then as another poster mentioned, there are those who would rather see the entire state and nation turned into Detroit before acknowledging that guns have any useful or legitimate purpose.
"Did I say "republic?" By God, yes, I said "republic!" Long live the glorious republic of the United States of America. Damn democracy. It is a fraudulent term used, often by ignorant persons but no less often by intellectual fakers, to describe an infamous mixture of socialism, miscegenation, graft, confiscation of property and denial of personal rights to individuals whose virtuous principles make them offensive." - Westbrook Pegler
