Idaho bill effectively nullifies new federal gun control measures

Yesterday, the Idaho state house passed a bill which would effectively nullify future federal gun laws by prohibiting state enforcement of any future federal act relating to personal firearms, a firearm accessories or ammunition. The vote was 68-0. It previously passed the state senate by a vote of 34-0, and will now go to the Governor's desk for a signature.

Good for them! Politicians here in the republic could use a bit of this common sense, maybe knock down a few of our restrictive laws. NOT!!!!!

Not really but the treasure valley where Boise is tends to be similar to SoCal as far as temperature and climate. Only difference if that the seasons actually change.

              Thanks for the info.

I've been to Boise. The college football stadium has blue AstroTurf. Rained the entire game, and the field was slicker than a bag id snot.

Might have to check it out!

The blog post author is not exactly correct here. The bill does nothing to prevent federal agents from doing whatever it is they do. Also note the reference to "future" gun laws. But getting state LE out of any future confiscation efforts really is a big deal, since the Feds can't be everywhere.

Your question recalls the Monty Python skit talking about "Well, it doesn't have much Spam"...

                  Quick answer is "indoors".

SW Idaho (Boise, etc.) generally will have less than the eastern part...obviously the farther north you go, the more white stuff.

Snow season in the Boise area can be from November through February, generally. But since only God controls weather, things can get weird...2 days ago my thermometer said 74F. Yesterday we had gusting winds up to 40 mph...temp dropped about 25 degrees. As I write this, it's 33F outside, gentle breeze, expected high 48F.

Growing season is generally from April though late September.

Though you can't ski and surf on the same day, you can damn sure ski and kayak the best white water in the country on the same day.

Plan on buying decent 4x4's if you don't already have them. Wife took the Land Cruiser to work only 3-4 days this winter. Her normal ride is a Dodge Ram 4x4 with nothing in the bed.

                  Welcome to Idaho.

The TAC has been doing great work assisting in the drafting & introducing of The 2nd Amendment Preservation Act in many states.

Tons of California cops retire to the Hayden area.

                        Most notably probably Mark Fuhrman.

                          Idaho...

Actually, Mark Furhman moved up to Sandpoint...from whence I graduated high school back in the day. I grew up just south of Ruby Ridge where our current San Diego sheriff was supervising the head-shots against breastfeeding women with infants in arms...

The great thing about living up there is that the state troopers and local sheriff have the view that their job is to protect YOU when the feds come to take your guns! I'm not sure how many other states' Governors have put their state police on the border to specifically prohibit the Feds from doing something the state didn't like...

When I was growing up there, the standard procedure when driving around armed was to toss the firearm up on the dashboard when/if you got pulled over for something. Never had an officer say anything other than "please don't touch that".

If you like desert, you can mostly avoid snow. If you like trees, snow is just part of the charm.

Idaho is bad ***. I moved to Boise from Ventura and haven't looked back. I open carried at the market just a few minutes ago. But don't move here if you're a Democrat. We like Idaho just the way it is and don't need any "Change".
