Interesting in that Mr. Terry is a well known evangelical Christian activist who apparently supports the second amendment. 'Liberal' Christians tend to identify with the peace movement with ideals such as universal disarmament,
and 'turn the other cheek' as literal and precludes the right to self defense, particularly with firearms. Liberal Christians advocate the 'soft' feel good aspects of the New Testament, and disregard the harsh realities of Jesus' teachings. Also disregard most of the old Testament as too harsh with too much personal accountability.

3rd Parties will never be seen as anything other than a spoiler unless Federal elections are changed nationwide to allow for some kind of runoff process so that the winner will have at least 50% +1 of the vote.
I've always been a fan of the "Instant Runoff" ballot as long as it's reasonable (ie 3 total choices, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd).

Indeed, voting third-party, especially in swing states, mathematically guarantees helping the major party with which the individual least aligns.
