Need input from voting NRA members.

As you probably know the monthly mag from NRA is here and it has the voting info on BOD members and the preposed changes in It's bylaws. I would like some discussion on who you think would be the best choices for the board and why you feel that way. I also would like your thoughts on the addition of the compliance officer. I think the compliance officer is a good step forward but if the board doesn't change how effective can he be. He answers to them after all. I do like that none of the officers can fire him. Please lets have an adult discussion on these points and stay away from all the negative crap that has been beat to death. If you are a voting member I welcome your input. If your a member it's a good chance to get a look at how or if they are fixing things. If your not a member please let the conversation happen without hijacking the thread. Thanks

My NRA magazine has not yet arrived. When did you all get yours?
I think the post office loses mine half the time.
I am really interested in voting this time around and reading the candidate statements.

I received my mag. on Tuesday. I think that was the 20th. It was in depth about the preposed changes in the by laws.

I'm not sure how it works.

Some say just voting for a select few, instead of all 25.
It increases the power of those votes.

Spread the word that there are 4 committed reformers on the 2024 NRA BOD ballot, & that every vote is going to be critical...

When my fellow member-nominated candidates and I refer to ourselves as "reform candidates," what we mean is that we are deeply committed to reforming the NRA to give members more power and hold officers, directors, and staff more accountable. We believe that Wayne LaPierre and others at the top of the NRA food chain need to be removed and replaced and that the massive corporation the NRA has become needs to be managed and directed by a much smaller, more professional Board of Directors that is much more accountable to the membership. I'll also note that we are not seeking any of those leadership positions for ourselves but want to ensure that the most qualified candidates available fill those critical positions.

The NRA is in serious trouble, and that?s why Phil, Rocky, Dennis, and I decided to run for the Board.

Now we'll need your help to spread the word that there are four committed reformers on the ballot and that every vote is going to be critical to helping us get elected.

The only one with a Valley Center address in the mag is Rigina Roberts. Her statement seems to show a long history of 2nd amendment work. Could you please expand on your statement as to why she is a bad choice.

What do you all think about Kim Rhode and Susannah Kipke. Both are named plaintiffs in 2A litigation. Of course, that does not make them qualified for a board seat alone, but certainly demonstrates their involvement and dedication.

I voted for Kim Rhodes. I like her. I'll have to reread Mrs. Kipke's paragraph.

I went back and read her paragraph in the NRA mag. She seems to have a very full plate. Four young children, wife of a politician, and a ton of jobs pertaining to the BOD. She seems qualified, I just wonder can she do her best work spread that thin. I'm not one to complain when someone works their tail off. Helps make up for the large group that contribute nothing. The ones that I have a problem with are the ones that have been there for many tears. They should have seen the problems and stepped in to fix them or they are part of the problem. I think the changes in the by laws will make it easier to do that. I hope.

I usually just write "fire Wayne" on it and mail it in but this year I will vote for these guys. I also voted for Dean Cain, he is a good conservative fellow.

I'm kind of amazed at how little interest this thread has generated. There are a lot of NRA members here. Why no input?

PS. Here's something to think about. The BOD is 75 people. In my opinion that is far to many. An easy way to peacefully trim it would be to lower the number of members by five every year and only vote for twenty. Over three years that would trim it to 60.over three years or 45 over six years or thirty over9 years. Just an idea but I believe a smaller board could do a better job.
