They got a long ways to go to catch up with California, and with 2 shootings this month California is still not there. Hmm.... maybe they should try something different.
The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money.

Uh... CT Gov. Lamont: Increase age to buy guns to 21, require registration of assault weapons...

It doesn't really sound as if 'originality' is the criterion.

As I said in another thread, the anti-2A crowd is putting on the full court press in every state in which they have a foothold. They know with NYSRPA v Bruen they are on thin ice and spring is around the corner.

I don't think they are concerned about the Bruen decision, at least not directly.

I think that they know that since the Bruen decision has been released it will be years before the SC addresses this again so the young pioneers [progressive 'new' democrats] feel that they have plenty of time to implement all sorts of 'gun control' legislation which will also take years [if ever] to be resolved in the courts. It's a similar situation to bankruptcy where after you have one you get all sorts of [legitimate] credit card offers because the card companies know you cant do it again for years.

Also consider that the 'enforcement' arm for any SC decision is the DoJ which is VERY unlikely to enforce anything that the above mentioned young pioneers don't like. Consider Al 'I Invented the Internet' Gore's 'no controlling legal authority' comment and how no 'controlling legal authority' ever held him accountable for his criminal activity and how that translates to the shenanigans occurring with certain current senior political figures.

So for y'all who think that things like the roster is going away 'imminently' because of the Bruen decision, you'd better stop holding your breath, it's not going anywhere...

Sad. But, unfortunately, true. At least for now.

Major gun control bill passes key Connecticut committee

On the day after another mass shooting at a Tennessee elementary school, a key Connecticut committee voted Tuesday in favor of a comprehensive series of restrictions in Gov. Ned Lamont?s gun control package.

Lamont?s proposals call for preventing those under 21 from buying any gun, requiring registration of previously grandfathered assault weapons, increasing safe storage requirements in the home and hiking penalties regarding large-capacity magazines. Lamont is also pushing for mandating the registration of all ghost guns, handmade weapons that can be constructed with parts and instructions that are available over the internet or with 3D printers.

The proposals, known as House Bill 6667, include banning the ?open carry? of a gun and preventing anyone from buying more than one handgun per month. The purchasing restriction is designed to reduce ?straw? purchases in which a person might buy 20 guns and then sell them on the streets ? often to convicted criminals who are not eligible to purchase a gun legally due to their criminal record...

The legislation requires further approval by the full House and Senate, where some Republicans said they will make far more detailed comments than they did Tuesday at the committee level...

Connecticut Senate passes strict gun-control measures, landmark bill headed to governor?s desk

Gun-control advocates in Connecticut on Saturday exulted in the passage of a slate of strong measures headed for the governor?s desk after an all-night Senate session and early morning vote...

The bill expands the state?s existing assault weapons ban to include more such weapons, tightens penalties for possession of large-capacity magazines, and ties domestic violence offenses to ineligibility for gun ownership. Open carry will be prohibited in public and concealed carry will require a permit.

The legislation also limits the number of handguns that any one person can buy to three during a 30-day period, or six for instructors.

Stricter rules on storage, assault weapons and ghost guns are some of the other provisions, as is a mechanism to make gun dealers more accountable if they violate sale guardrails.

In addition, any private citizen buying body armor must have a pistol permit or a certificate demonstrating eligibility.

The Senate passed the legislation, House Bill 6667, in a 24-11 vote, after the House approved the bill 96-51 on May 25...

Gun rights supporters sue Connecticut after governor signs bill with open carry ban

Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont on Tuesday signed the most wide-ranging state gun control bill since a 2013 law passed in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, sparking an immediate lawsuit by gun rights supporters seeking to block a ban on open carrying and other parts of the new law...

If you have to be 21 to buy a gun, you have to be 21 to vote.
