    Comment Period Timeline: Braced Pistols

Not sure I understand the events surrounding an ATF comment period. During the ninety days, comments are accepted by the ATF. At the conclusion of the 90 days, the comments are perused and then a decision is made. If it is determined that that the subject firearms are indeed SBRs, a ****load of Form 1s will be filed by those who legally want to keep their weapons.

Question: will there be some "file by date" that will allow those who comply to keep the item as-is while they await the issuance of the stamp?

Do not quote me on this, but I was under the impression there was a grace period of like 60 days or so where they'd expect you to file a form 1 and pay your pittance to the government, sell your gun to someone who is willing to do this, or (what they'd probably prefer) you turn it into some form of government agency. Admittedly, its been awhile since I've read the proposal, so this very well could be based off of some guntuber's speculation.

Regardless, probably best to get out there and comment against the proposals, even if they're sort of hard to come by out here in CA.
