    DEMS SCOTUS ATTACK BEGINS

President Joe Biden will create a commission to study possible changes to the Supreme Court, including adding seats or instituting term limits, the White House announced Friday.

Gee who didn't see this Leftist Wish List item coming to fruition?

The odds of forcing this through the Senate are not terribly high; even when Roosevelt threatened it, there was a lot of backlash from a compliant Congress, and the rumblings now are just the same. Such a move is so blatantly political and politically divisive that, unless the filibuster is killed as well, Biden doesn't have a chance of getting nominees confirmed if he succeeds in expanding the bench.

Side note: this "bipartisan" commission is headed by two Demo party hacks.

meh. He's fulfilling a campaign promise. He's created a bi-partisan commission of judges and lawyers to write a report.

      It's the proverbial Penske file.

Is he going to include the accordion style folder with the report?

If he stays on his present coarse the midterm elections should be pretty interesting. You go Joe.

It is, in part, directly 2nd Amendment related. Justice Thomas is, currently, our most likely ally regarding protections afforded by the 2nd Amendment. Yet, published today...

A Surprising Opinion From Justice Thomas May Signal an Ominous Shift on Free Speech

So... The Justice who is, potentially, our greatest 2nd Amendment ally on SCOTUS is now a totalitarian and an enemy of the people. At the very least, steps must be taken to regain 'balance' on the Court. Perhaps term limits so we can get these older, conservative Justices out of there. Such a circumstance is intolerable in the name of liberty.

            Uh huh.

More simply put, the Left has, in essence, come out of the closet with... If we, the Left, are not dominant and in control, then we will control you in the name of being in control.

To do that, they have to stack the Court, take away guns, prevent anyone right-of-center from being voted into power again, etc. Even 20 years ago I'd likely have said that such was beyond their ability.

            Now...?!?!

Why leave loose ends? The judiciary is the only branch of the government they don't absolutely control.

That's a nice Supreme Court you have there, it would be a shame if something happened to it...

SCOTUS may throw Biden a bone now and then to preclude support growing in the Senate to expand the court. In my opinion, the situation with the filibuster same thing.... McConnell should use it judiciously and not try to obstruct everything Biden wants.....what is currently saving the fillibuster is Manchin & Sinema

Shoes is on the other foot. Now they know how we've felt all this time. This is actually how it's supposed to work. SCOTUS is not supposed to be politically aligned with congress. It's supposed to be a check on it.

The commission, as The New York Times reported in April, will be made up of committees that will develop research for the full panel to consider. In addition to a working group it will have groups on other possible changes to the court, including creating term limits or a mandatory retirement age; placing expanding the number of cases the court is required to hear; and limiting its ability to decide major issues without a full briefing and arguments.
